[ 2008 ] [ 2007 ] [ 2006 ] [2005] [2004] [2003] [2002] 2003 COMMENTS Click on the title below to be taken to the appropriate commentary. 11 in a Row, There's More to Go (?) 12/29/03 9:33pm EST The incredible streak of higher lows we've seen in the S&P has historically been positive, and we're now seeing a nearly complete absence of selling pressure.
12/23/03 8:12pm EST The seasonality is now extremely positive and very consistent, but Rydex traders have finally jumped on the bandwagon to some degree.
What's Special About Specialists 12/21/03 10:00am EST Specialist shorting is at an historic low point, and there is (finally) some hesitancy shown by Rydex traders. Coupled with positive seasonality, downside looks limited.
12/17/03 8:30pm EST We're still not seeing enough excessive optimism short-term to look for a turn-back on new highs, but the put/call data is very troubling.
12/15/03 9:15pm EST This is one of the few times in history where the S&P is hitting new 60-day highs yet is closer to oversold than overbought.
12/11/03 9:15pm EST There continue to be some positive signs for the bulls, but with mass media picking coverage on the market, watch out for too much enthusiasm on new highs.
12/09/03 8:50pm EST We have enough short-term pessimism going that a drop below and reversal back above 1060 could give longs a little juice.
12/07/03 10:20am EST As long as we hold the 1060 level on S&P cash, these mild oversold readings could lead to short-term rally.
12/03/03 8:50pm EST A history of these types of reversals is inconclusive.
12/01/03 10:00pm EST What was oversold in the last comment is now overbought.
11/20/03 11:42pm EST Some of our shorter-term measures are suggesting that a bit more downside action should set up for a long trade.
Need to Relieve the "Pressure" 11/18/03 9:00pm EST Our Down Pressure reading on the Nasdaq 100 is one of the highest of any seen over the past year.
11/16/03 11:00am EST While the uptrend is still intact, behavior from some of the traders usually the most wrong on market direction has to be considered very troubling.
11/12/03 11:50pm EST The market is doing what it needs to do to keep the uptrend intact.
11/10/03 8:50pm EST If we approach the 1040 level on the S&P, we should see a nice rebound soon afterward.
11/02/03 10:50am EST It's difficult to justify short positions right now, but any push to new highs should be quickly fought back.
